Everyone’s a Winner with the Eco-Defenders!

Then come Berries & Blooms
and become an Eco-Defender! And it’s not just for
kids—it’s for adults, too.
How does this
work? There are two levels of
involvement—Deputies and Sheriffs. To become a Deputy, check-in at Eco-Defenders Headquarters on June 18th
and get deputised by the 1st Beamsville Scout Troup. Then the deputies can pick-up
recyclables and return them to the Headquarters where they will be rewarded 1
point for every item. At any time
you can turn in your points for any of the available rewards. Plus for every 10 recyclable items
returned, you get a ballot for our Grand Prize Draw for a trip to Quebec
City. And you can even get
something with only a single point!
We have tons of toys, candy and other small items for 1 to 10 points so
anyone can earn a reward.
For those of you
who really want to earn points and rewards, you can become a Sheriff. Our Sheriffs get rewards based on the
time volunteered either helping pick up garbage, sorting compost or helping out
the Scouts. For every ½ hour
volunteered we’ll give you 30 points plus a ballot for the Grand Prize
Draw. Sheriffs who work more than 3
hours will get bonus points. Plus
Sheriffs can collect and redeem recyclable items the same as the deputies so
there are lots of ways to earn points.
